The Level 4 Award in Skin Blemish Removal is a vocationally related qualification focused on carrying out advanced electrical epilation techniques to treat skin tags, milia, telangiectasia, spider naevi and blood spots.
You will develop the advanced skills to carry out a thorough consultation, formulate an individual treatment plan and provide aftercare advice. Health, safety and hygiene are also key elements of this qualification.
The units of study are:
- Advanced epilation techniques
You will also study the background knowledge of shortwave diathermy, health and safety, consultation and removal techniques.
This course is completed over 2 days with the majority of this time gaining and learning practical techniques to carry out the treatments in the salon working on real clients.
There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge prior to the practical sessions.
This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.
Requirements: You will need to attend in a Salon Tunic and Trousers.

Skin Blemish Removal Level 4 Award VTCT
This course is ideal for those therapists who wish to start their journey in skin blemish removal.
Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, case studies, written questions and practical assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence including photographs of your work.
It is expected that you will have purchased or own a short wave diathermy electrolysis machine so that you can practise throughout your case studies after the course and continue with your practise at home - your tutor will discuss this with you at the start of your course.
If you do not have a machine at this time - it may be possible to carry out your case studies at the centre in an additional time slot. Students must hold student insurance and additional fees will be charged (Terms and Conditions apply) . Please discuss this with your tutor.
This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
