The aim of this unit is to develop your creative skills to an advanced level to enable you to produce a fantasy hair design for a performance. This course is a unit of credit study and will give VTCT accreditation in Fantasy Hair Design at Level 3 and is great for any makeup artist who would like to work as a session stylist or complete competition work in avante garde. 

Please note : This means you will receive a transcript certificate. 

 

The unit of study is:

 

  • Fantasy Hair application 

 

You will study a wide range of techniques including temporary spray in colour, styling and setting and dressing hair using props etc to produce a hairstle that complements the costume to be worn.  You will be able to explore theme design and present a moodboard for each look you deliver.

 

This is a Unit of Credit certification from VTCT.  This will allow you to obtain employment and insurance. 

This course  is completed over 2 days. The majority of this time will be spent gaining and learning practical techniques to carry out in the salon working on real clients.

 

There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit.

This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.

 

Requirements: You will need to attend a Salon Tunic and Trousers.

  • This course is ideal for makeup artists  who wish to work with hair for photographic or competition pieces.   It is also ideal for hairdressers who wish to design something more out of the box and work with avant garde in mind.

     

    Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, tests and practical assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence.   Some research and design work may be required via our online classroom prior to the start of the course.

     

    No kit is required for this course however we do recommend that you purchase one to allow you to practise at home - your tutor will discuss this with you at the start of your course.

     

    This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
