The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies (QCF) is a technical level qualification that provides learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills to work as an employed and/or self-employed complementary therapist, either within the National Health Service or in private practice.
The content of this qualification is comprised of all the required elements to work effectively as a complementary therapist: anatomy, physiology and pathology, principles and practice of complementary therapies including health and safety, client care, client consultation; business principles, massage, reflexology and aromatherapy including the ability to blend essential oils to provide aessential oils to provide a tailored service to your clients using a range of different techniques.
The units of study are:
- Business Practice
- Principles of Complementary Therapies
- Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology
- Body Massage
- Aromatherapy
- Reflexology
This is course which is completed over 15 days or 30 evening sessions at our Centre. The majority of that time will be spent gaining and learning practical techniques to carry out aromatherapy working on real clients. In between these days you will cover case study to improve your practise - these are discussed and reviewed in tutorials. You can expect your study period to last between three to six months but can extend this course up to one year.
There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit. Home study and revision is required to ensure that you meet the necessary criteria through our Online Classroom OlivElearn
This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.
Requirements: You will need to attend a Salon Tunic and Trousers. A essential oil kit is also required for this course.

Complementary Therapies Level 3 Diploma VTCT
This course is ideal for those wishing to start out their career as a Complementary Therapist and providing the necessary skills to prepare learners for employment in the NHS or self-employment as a complementary therapist in private practice.
Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, tests and practical assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence. Please be aware that there is a significant number of case studies to complete during this course to ensure that you meet the reqirements of the awardng body.
An essential oils kit is required for this course so that you can practise at home and undertake aromatherapy case studies and details can be given on where to purchase this at the start of your course. Kits can be purchased via Olive Training - your tutor will discuss this with you at the start of your course.
This qualification is based on Skills for Health Complementary Therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Core Curricula published by lead bodies in the sector. This qualification is recognised by the UK's largest complementary therapy trade body/professional association, The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and also the UK's second largest association representing complementary therapists; the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) as being fit for purpose for preparing learners for a career as a complementary therapist.
Learners who complete this qualification are eligible to register with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) which is the government backed voluntary regulator for the sector.
