This VTCT L2 NVQ Makeup qualification is about providing make-up services for a variety of occasions, including natural day, evening and special occasions such as classic and traditional bridal. You will need to show you can work with a variety of skin types and conditions.
The qualification covers the application of a wide range of make-up products to different skin tones and age groups. To carry out this qualification you will be shown how to maintain effective health, safety and hygiene throughout your work.
The unit of study is:
- Provide Makeup Services (day, evening and special ocassion)
This will allow you to obtain employment and insurance working as a makeup artist.
This course is completed over 2 days. The majority of this time will be spent gaining and learning practical techniques to carry out the treatments in the salon working on real clients.
There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit. Pre-study is essential.

This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.

Makeup L2 NVQ Award VTCT
This course is ideal for those starting out in the makeup industry and for getting the foundation and grounding of being a makeup artist and to cover a wide range of applications. It is especially ideal for adults.
Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, tests and practical assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence.
You will need at least two sets of makeup brushes - please discuss this with Olive Training at the time of booking. Brushes are available for purchase.
No specific makeup kit is required for this course however we do recommend that you purchase one to allow you to practise at home - your tutor will discuss this with you at the start of your course.
This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualification.
