Student wins World Skills Regional Heat

We are pleased to announce Helen Miles represented Olive Training today in Media Makeup at the World Skills Regional Heat in Walsall today and she only went and WON !!!

World Skills is an ideal to place to showcase your skills and is a tremendous accolade to have as you enter the hair and beauty industry especially when you are seeking employment.

We were so proud of Helen and really pleased that her skills have been recognised in this competition. Helen has studied a wide range of Courses with us and of course we hope she will continue to study with us in other fields. Her qualifications achieved to date at Olive Training are Body Art Design, Themed Face Painting, Fantasy Hair Design, Apply Makeup, NVQ Airbushing and Theatrical, Stage, Special Effects Hair and Media makeup. She works hard to deliver each design and makeover with care and even makes the props and costumes to finish the look.

At the Regional Heat on Wednesday 5th July Helen worked methodically with her entry alongside some other large further education college students. Her model Thomas was carefully chose and was an absolute star in showcasing her work to the maximum - he even drove home in costume.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that at Stage 1 and 2 of this opportunity Helen has achieved enough points to allow her to go to the Finals.
