The Level 4 Award in Skin Blemish Removal is a vocationally related qualification focused on carrying out advanced electrical epilation techniques to treat skin tags, milia, telangiectasia, spider naevi and blood spots. You will develop the advanced skills to carry out a thorough consultation, formulate an individual treatment plan and provide aftercare advice.

 

You will also study the current used to carry out applications.  Health, safety and hygiene are also key elements of this qualification.  You will be assessed on your occupational competence. 

 

The units of study are:

 

  • Advanced epilation techniques

 

This course is completed over 2 days.  The majority of this time will be spent gaining and learning practical techniques to carry out the treatments in the salon working on real clients.  The two days will be split to allow for practise and case studies to be carried out.

 

There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for the unit.  Pre-study assignments are essential for this course

 

Home study is required to ensure that you meet the necessary criteria through our Online Classroom OlivElearn

 

This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.

Requirements:  You will need to attend in a Salon Tunic and Trousers.

  • This course is ideal for those therapists who already hold an Epilation qualification to advance their skills in skin blemish removal. 

     

    Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, case studies, written questions and practical assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence including photographs of your work. 

     

    It is expected that you will have purchased or own an electrolysis machine so that you can practise throughout your case studies after the course and continue with your practise at home - your tutor will discuss this with you at the start of your course.   

     

    This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications
