The VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Providing Therapies for Clients with Cancer or other Life Limiting Conditions qualification will prepare you to work within a healthcare setting providing complementary therapies for clients who are suffering life limiting conditions or who are critically frail.
Complementary therapies are widely available to people with cancer and increasingly to patients with a range of long term medical and life limiting conditions. These therapies are delivered alongside orthodox treatments, often within the healthcare setting, with the aim of providing psychological and emotional support through the relief of symptoms.
The units of study are :
- Principles of provding complementary therapies in a healthcare setting
- Interpersonal skills for the complementary therapist
- Providing complementary therapies for people with life limiting conditions
- Working with healthcare professionals
This course will take between one to three month to complete but can be studied over an extended period up to six months. This blended study programme is a combination of Online study, workshop sessions at the assessment centre with a small number of assessments carried out either at Olive Training or in your own working environment. There is a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit. Home study is required to ensure that you meet the necessary criteria through our Online Classroom OlivElearn.

Please note:
To be eligible for registration on this qualification, it is a requirement that you are a qualified complementary therapist holding a Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in at least one of the three main disciplines of complementary therapies, namely - aromatherapy, reflexology and massage. Anatomy and physiology knowledge at Level 3 or equivalent is also a mandatory requirement.

This course is ideal for those wishing to advance their Level 3 skills in working with patients with a range of long term medical conditions
VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Providing Therapies for Clients with Cancer or other Life Limiting Conditions qualification provides a specialised progression route with advanced technical knowledge and skills for Level 3 complementary therapists.
You will be required to show proof that you already hold a Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in at least one complementary therapies, namely - aromatherapy, reflexology and massage. You must also hold Level 3 or equivalent anatomy and physiology.Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of assignments, activities and practical assessments including a significant number of case studies; and will compile a portfolio of evidence.
Attendance at Olive Training will be required for two days for practical activity workshop, delivery and tutorial, with the third being an assessment day. Some practical client care assessments can be carried out in a real working environment ie care home, hospice. Please ask for more details on this.

This qualification may also lead to employment within a hospital, hospice or other healthcare environments.
