The VTCT Level 3 Award in Media Make-Up is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills and media make-up techniques. You will learn to use latex, liquid blood, ready made prosthetics and other coloured cosmetics to create different character and casualty effects.

This course is completed over 3 days. For two days you will spend time gaining and learning practical techniques to carry out the treatments in our studio/salon.  On the  third day you will return to carry out your assessments.

 

There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit.

 

Home study is required to ensure that you meet the necessary criteria  which must be completed before your programme of study through our Online Classrom OlivElearn.

This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.

 

Requirements: You will need to attend a Salon Tunic and Trousers.  You wiill also need professional makeup brushes for this course.

  • This course is suitable for students who wish to progress their skills from level 2 apply makeup to learn different effects from charactor, fantasy and sepcial effects makeup.  It is also ideal for face/body painters who wish to learn new skills.

     

    Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, tests and practical assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence. 

     

    You will need a wide range of makeup brushes - please discuss this with Olive Training at the time of booking.  Brushes are available for purchase. 

     

    No specific makeup kit is required for this course however we do recommend that you purchase one to allow you to practise at home - your tutor will discuss this with you at the start of your course.

     

    This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications
