The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-Up Studies  is designed to help you start your career as a hair and makeup artist.  The units of study are:

 

  • Health and Safety
  • Makeup Application
  • Photographic Makeup
  • Create an Image
  • Dressing Hair
  • Shaping and Colouring Brows
  • Themed Face Painting
  • Body Art


This course is completed over 10 days. The majority of this time will be spent gaining and learning practical techniques to carry out the treatments in our salon working on real clients. 

 

There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit.

 

Home study is required to ensure that you meet the necessary criteria through our Online Classroom OlivElearn.

 

This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.

 

Requirements: You will need to attend a Salon Tunic and Trousers. You will need two sets of Makeup brushes will also be required.

  • This course is ideal for those wishing to get a taster of the makeup industry and wish to build up their confidence. It is especially ideal for pre and post-16s students who wish to ensure a place at L3 Beauty Therapy or Makeup entry into college.   It is also ideal for anyone starting out in the industry and wanting to get a few at foundation level for the applications.

     

    Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, tests and practical assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence. 

     

    You will need a set of makeup brushes - please discuss this with Olive Training at the time of booking.  Brushes are available for purchase. 

     

    No specific makeup kit is required for this course however we do recommend that you purchase one to allow you to practise at home - your tutor will discuss this with you at the start of your course

     

    This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications
