This Course is one unit only called Create and cast small prosthetic pieces and bald caps (UV30557) and offers fully accredited certification in this skill at Level 3.
This is a special effects course which allows you to use a range of different products and techniques to build small prosthetic pieces specially designed and prepared for the actor. You will learn to mould, sculpt and cast. This is very much a hands on course. You will also study the underpinning theory to support the unit.
This unit is about creating small prosthetic pieces such as ears, noses, chins and bald caps.
This course which is completed over 1 day. The majority of this time will be spent gaining in the salon preparing and making prosthetic pieces using a variety of techniques.
There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit.
Home study is required to ensure that you meet the necessary criteria through our Online Classroom OlivElearn. Some study is required prior to this course start date.
This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.
Requirements: You will need to attend in a black t-shirt and trousers. Please bring an apron or overalls. You will get messy on this course.

Create & cast small prosthetic pieces L3 (Unit)
This course is ideal for makeup artists or those people who wish to start making prosthetics.
Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, tests and practical assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence.
No kit is required for this course however we do recommend that you purchase some products to allow you to practise at home and meet the project case study requirement of the course - your tutor will discuss this with you prior to the start of your course.
This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
None but ideally a makeup backgrounds is desirable.
