The VTCT Level 1 Award in Basic Make-Up Application will enable you to prepare for and carry out basic day make-up application using a variety of cosmetic products. The unit of study is:

 

  • Apply basic makeup (day)


You will be able to prepare for make-up, carry out a skin analysis and use consultation techniques. The treatment will also involve checking that the final result is to the satisfaction of the client.


This course is completed over 1 day. 

 

There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit.

 

Home study is required to ensure that you meet the necessary criteria through our Online Classroom OlivElearn

 

This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.

 

Requirements: You will need to attend a Salon Tunic and Trousers.

  • This course is suitable for students who wish to progress to a make-up course which leads to employment or progression to level 2.  It is also ideal for adults who wish to have a taster of working as a makeup artist.
     

    Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, tests and practical assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence. 

     

    You will need two sets of makeup brushes - please discuss this with Olive Training at the time of booking.  Brushes are available for purchase. 

     

    No specific makeup kit is required for this course however we do recommend that you purchase one to allow you to practise at home - your tutor will discuss this with you at the start of your course.

     

    This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications
