The VTCT Level 2 Award in the Art of Photographic Make-Up designed to develop your practical skills in providing photographic make-up services at foundation level. The unit of study is :

 

  • Photographic Makeup - Period, Bridal and Fantasy


You will learn about make-up for different facial features, skin types, eye and lip shapes, different facial characteristics, glasses and contact lens wearers as well as lighting and other photographic make-up factors. 

This course is completed over 1 day. The majority of this time will be spent gaining and learning practical techniques to carry out the treatments in our salon working on real clients.

 

There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit.  Home study is required to ensure that you meet the necessary criteria through our Online Classroom OlivElearn.

 

This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.

 

Requirements: You will need to attend a Salon Tunic and Trousers. You will also need makeup brushes for this course.

  • This course is ideal for those wishing to take their makeup skills a little further and prepare themselves to work with photographers in a studio setting. It is especially ideal for pre-16s students and adults who wish to pursue a career as a makeup artist and build their confidence in application techniques. 

     

    Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, tests and practical assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence. 

     

    You will need a set of makeup brushes - please discuss this with Olive Training at the time of booking.  Brushes are available for purchase. 

     

    No specific makeup kit is required for this course however we do recommend that you purchase one to allow you to practise at home - your tutor will discuss this with you at the start of your course.

     

    This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications
